Owner / Maker / Designer / Collector
Natalie has always been interested in jewellery! As a young girl,
Natalie remembers rummaging through her mother's wooden jewellery box she kept displayed on her dressing table, looking
for newly acquired vintage beads & brooches. She enjoyed the thrill of holding old pieces up to the light & looking at them through new eyes...
So, I guess it's no surprise that Natalie has a passion for jewellery!
In particular, old tribal adornment & vintage silver, which has
a story to tell... who did it belong to & how far has it travelled before its reached her hands?
Bazaar Collections was born after a life changing adventure
to Morocco fifteen years ago. It was here that Natalie discovered her love of travel, decorative arts, antiquities, & tribal adornment. During this trip, Natalie spent two months exploring the old & dusty souks of Marrakech, Casablanca, & Fes looking for old silver
tribal pieces - Bedouin, Berber & Tuareg amulets; exotic beads;
& unusual treasures from around the world.
Today, she still loves the thrill of rediscovering lost treasures
& collecting beautiful pieces of adornment on her travels.
Natalie enjoys discovering its meaning & cultural significance - what tribal belief does it hold, what materials have been used to create it, & how does it feel to wear it? All of these elements are important to Natalie & she tries to portray the magic of each
piece through her descriptions, research, & photography.
